Pan-STARRS 3-12-13
Posted in 5DMII, Astrophotography on March 12, 2013 by budbranchThis comet is impossible to see with naked eyes!! And this Moon was just a sliver, so a half-hour after sunset I was still searching, searching… I never did see the comet directly – only by reviewing images on the back of my camera did I finally see where it was and started composing these images. It was cold. And windy. The last frame was a 3-second exposure – notice the wild gyrations of the passing aircraft (that was my camera shaking in the wind!).

Thanks to Will Lyster for obtaining access to Brown’s Mountain for the purpose of photographing NASA’s ATREX experiment – what a cool event!
